Black Stars have made Africa proud- Lawrence Tetteh
June 14, 2010

Accra, June 14, GNA - Dr Lawrence Tetteh, a Ghanaian International Evangelist based in the UK, on Monday congratulated the Black Stars for lifting up their maiden game at the 2010 FIFA World Cup to beat Serbia one nil.

"As the first African State to be victorious at the tournament, being hosted on African soil, the Black Stars have brought honour to Ghana and Africa as pacesetters," he said in an interview with GNA Sports from London.

Dr Tetteh said: "Ghana has shown the way that it is possible for Africa to shine in the World Cup as the country did by being the first Black African nation to win independence."

He asked the team to stay focussed, determined and overcome complacency to triumph over Australia at the next stage of the contest.

"I fully agree with President John Evans Atta Mills that it is possible for the Black Stars to go beyond what they did at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.

"With confidence and determination, a strong playing team and technical bench, the Black Stars can make a difference."

Dr Tetteh said the team is now a unifying force in Ghana and through their steadfastness, prayers and support from Ghanaians they should be able to rally the people together and bring great honour to the nation by lifting the Golden Cup.
