The-Dream served
Christina Milian with
divorce papers a few days before she gave birth to their only child, according to
TMZ.
The-Dream, whose real name is Terius Nash, filed his divorce papers on February 17, and Milian, whose last name is Flores on the petition, gave birth to daughter Violet nine days later.
The celeb duo decided to make sweet music together for good last September in Las Vegas. As a matter of fact, the Vegas nuptial was just the first of two ceremonies. The couple also got hitched in Rome and had planned to thrice bless their union on their first anniversary.
The bouquet hit the fan, though, when pictures of The-Dream frolicking on a beach with his assistant of one year, Melissa Santiago, surfaced. By the time those pictures came out, little did the inquiring public know that the couple was actually in the throes of a hush-hush divorce.
The divorce document reads that the newlyweds have been living separately. The-Dream also mentions in the court paper "that the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken and there is no hope for reconciliation."
According to a rep for The-Dream:
"Terius 'The-Dream' Nash is saddened to announce that his marriage to Christina Milian was unsuccessful. The couple reached this decision in late 2009 but decided to keep the news private in efforts to protect their baby daughter Violet. They ask for consideration and respect for their family moving forward."
