Driver jailed 10 years for stealing motorbike and phone
Aflao, Oct 14, GNA - A 22 year old driver, who stole a motorbike and a cellular phone, belonging to his friend, has been jailed 10 years in hard labour, by an Aflao Circuit Court.
Kwame Hudor pleaded guilty to stealing.
Mr Akwesi Asafo-Agyei, Dzodze District Police Commander, told the court, presided over by Mr Francis Obiri, that Hudor, who had no permanent place of abode, on July 15 this year, visited the complainant, a friend he had been acquainted with for a long time at Abortsiveme, near Dzodze and was accorded a nice reception.
He said at about 0630 hours the following day, Hudor took his host's Hajin motorbike, which was placed by a wall in the house.
Mr Asafo-Agyeis said Hudor rode the bike to the house of the complainant's son and on false representation collected his host's phone being kept by his (host) son and fled.
He then fled with the items until he was arrested and upon interrogation admitted the offence, saying he had sold the bike and phone in Accra.
